Each year our friends Gary and Angela invite a group to a local park for Easter lunch. They supply the turkey and ham and we help out with sides and dessert. This is our second year of attending the lunch and we love it.
Gary reads a portion about Easter and says a prayer and then everyone dives into the food and eats. Desserts are eaten before the main food. It’s Easter. It’s allowed.
The rest of the day is spent watching the soccer match between the Dads and the boys.
The Moms also stand around, snack on desserts and chat.
Well, except for one mom and her daughter who decided to get in on the game. They were brave.
The day was lovely. Warm and sunny with a slight nip in the air to keep the soccer players from overheating.
The soccer players all got quite the tan from their 3-hour soccer match. We call it a ‘boer tan’ or a ‘farmer tan’.
Gary and Angela gave all the kids an Easter cross. They are so thoughtful and kind.
We finished the day off at home, in the basement, with a movie, eating too many chocolate eggs. The diet starts tomorrow!
