Its been a while since we visited the National Western Stock Show. The NWSS comes to Denver every January and its hard to ignore the TV commercials and billboards advertising the event.
Today is Martin Luther King Day and since the boys had the day off from school, I decided it was time to head to the Coliseum and get a taste of the wild west.
We wandered around the exhibits and ...
There was a lot of excitement at our house tonight.
We had tickets to see Lion King live.
For us it isn't just about going to the theatre. For us, its going back to our roots, to hear the local language being spoken again, to hear the African drumbeats once more, to see the colours of Africa, to feel just for 3 hours, like we're home.

And so we trained.
About 5 times in the 13 week training-plan.
We've been very good about carbo-loading for 13 weeks.
We are committed and focused that way.
Tomorrow is race day. Tomorrow is the day we take all of our 5 days worth of ...
Since Jordan chose money over a birthday party, we said he could have a friend over for the night and we'd go to Elitch Gardens (amusement park) today. Then we found out his friend gets motion sickness - in the car - so Elitches was ruled out.
Jordan's friend mentioned the T-Rex exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and we headed that direction instead.
Right outside the parking garage were ...
The start of fall, in my book, is Labor Day. School has gone back. The leaves are hinting at turning. The days are cooler. Summer is gone.
Warren had the day off and we were tempted to stay home today but then thought better of our laziness. We each had a very bland egg-bacon-cheese flatbread at Subway for breakfast (cross that off the list forever), stopped at our local drive-thru Starbucks ...
