This is the 'before' of the lighting in the kitchen. I intentionally kept the picture dark to show the lighting. We considered keeping the fluorescent light and painting the trim around it the same colour as the ceiling. I'm glad we didn't.

Our kitchen is going through a transformation and we've been busy through the Christmas period, trying to get as much done as possible before the big man in the red suit arrived.
Once again, this is the before photo.

Prime the wall with 2 coats of weatherproofing guard and once dry, run a bead of silicone caulking around the perimeter of the area.
Plan how the tile should look before placing it on the wall.
Mix the thinset so its the consistency of toothpaste.
Smooth a generous layer of the thinset about as large as a single 12x12 tile onto the wall.
